What if I get disconnected and have to re-register ?

We've tried to design the site to logically flow through the attendance process. If you have to re-register, you are not billed twice! Our billing process is NOT automated. You are only receiving credit for a single use (no matter how many times you might get disconnected and have to re-register) and you are only charged for a single use of the site. The State will NOT allow you to attend the same class twice within the same renewal year.

Do I have to start and finish a category within one two hour block ?

The site is designed to be used in two (2) hour blocks of time.  Our site records the date and  time at various 'triggers' within it.  If you don't have time to register; review the materials (for the required amount of time); and then submit the review answers during one 'session'; it will be more difficult to use this site (probably requiring multiple registrations, etc).

The State prohibits you from taking multiple classes at the same time - (that is, overlapping attendance). After all -- you can't sit in multiple "live" classrooms at the same time.

Do I have to answer the review questions?

Yes, you have to answer the review questions.  You cannot fail (the program will keep making you change your answers until they are all correct!) but it is used to validate some of our educational topics.  We frequently audit our users to discuss the material content with our attendees.  When seeking approval from the State to use the internet for providing classes, this was one of THEIR requirements.

I can't  SUBMIT the registration/review questions, what do I do?

If you are experiencing problems of this nature, we ask that you fill out a support request or send us a SHORT email with your name, date, category, stating
"I cannot submit the registration/review answers".  For registrations, we NEED all of the information because we use it on the Attendance Verification Form.  For Reviews, we will use the date and time of your email as the END time of your attendance. It would also be helpful if you inform us that you plan
to take additional categories or if you've completed your last class.  If you provide a phone number, we will usually contact you to assist in any way possible to prevent this in future categories.

As hard as we try, downtime is unavoidable.  Statistically, our website is operational 99.6% of the time.  Frequently, the downtime is measured in minutes!

Why am I getting disconnected from the Internet ?

When using the Internet, your dial up phone connection is maintained by your Internet Service Provider (ISP)  (such as, comcast.net, bellsouth.net, earthlink.net, aol.com, etc.) as long as it 'senses' activity.   [Activity is when you request a page and then the host server sends you the requested page to your computer.]  Once you have the materials downloaded, there is no further 'activity' between your computer and our site until you submit the review questions (about 2 hours later...).  This will normally result in a disconnection of your dial-up connection by your ISP which we cannot control. Most ISPs have about a 20 - 30 minute idle period before they cut you off.  See the next tip for some tricks to reduce the frequency of getting cut off.

What can I do to keep from getting disconnected ?

Here are some tips that can reduce the chances of a disconnect.  You can periodically 'refresh' or 'reload' the materials.  This will simulate activity so that your provider 'senses' that you're still there.  You will have to remember where you were within the material as you will begin at the top of the page again following a reload.  With some providers, during peak periods of use, this might have to be repeated about every 1/2 hour.  Again, we cannot control this.

Another suggestion would be to bookmark the category/material page (or add it to your favorites).  If you loose your connection, you can return directly to the material WITHOUT having to re-register once you re-establish your connection.

However, please go back into your bookmarks/favorites and REMOVE the bookmarks when you have completed your attendance.  Our page addresses are changed every year, so last year's bookmarks should not work. BUT your computer will actually "store" a copy (called caching) of our page on your computer and when it can not load the page, it will sometimes display this stored page - but none of the links will work and sometimes the pictures are even missing....

If I get disconnected, do I have to reconnect immediately ?

Maybe, maybe not... This tip (depending on your browser and ISP service) allows you to withstand the disconnect.   Yep, you can allow the disconnect to occur!! When the 're-establish connection' window pops up don't press reconnect, or cancel or the x in the corner - just leave it there.  Go down to your taskbar and click on the browser button. The materials will still be displayed in the window and you can then review the materials in complete relaxation!!

HOWEVER, before you answer the review questions, you must RECONNECT to your provider, REFRESH THE PAGE, and THEN answer the review questions. Doing it any other way will erase your answers as the form is reloaded.

If you've been disconnected for an inordinate amount of time, the page will not be found and you will have to re-enter and re-register and return to your category to complete the review questions (unless you made the page one of your favorites or bookmarked it - then you can just reconnect and return to the page).

My modem line is also my business line/ I don't want to tie up my phone line

Use this as a last resort. Just print the materials (if your printer will handle graphics) but be prepared to print up to 30 pages per category!!   [Please remember that these are copyrighted materials for your use only.]   After printing,  add the page to your "favorites" or "bookmark" the page, you can disconnect and review the materials and answer the review questions in advance on paper.  Then after the required amount of time has passed, you will have to re-enter the site, re-register (unless you bookmarked the page), select the category, go directly to the category review, answer the questions and press the submit button.

How do I get my Attendance Verification Form?

You will retrieve your Attendance Verification Form (AVF) as a pdf download. Please go to this website: http://www.myceuform.com/getmyceuform.php.
Enter the email address that you used during registration and click on the "Get my Forms" Button. IF we have processed your form or forms, they will return into the window. You simply have to click on the "PDF FILE" link at the end of the result and your pdf form will download through your browser.

Please be CAREFUL - we host 2 years worth of attendance forms in this area, so make sure you get the form for the proper YEAR.

Now that you can see your form, you can print it, or you can save it to your computer and print it via an Adobe Reader.

We will also mail a papercopy (for an additional $2 shipping and handling fee) via the US Postal Service to the address you provided upon registration of each category IF YOU REQUEST THIS SERVICE (you authorize this service at the top of the review).

THE STATE MUST HAVE A SIGNED COPY OF YOUR FORM -- so, you'll need to print it out, sign it, and scan it back into your computer (unless you've got the computer skills to insert your signature). DO NOT FORWARD OUR FORM DIRECTLY TO THE STATE WITHOUT SIGNING IT FIRST.

THE STATE PROHIBITS us from sending the AVF directly to them (the State). (It requires your signature).

IF YOU ARE A TECHNICIAN: Technician Attendance forms are still mailed via USPS to the address supplied at registration. It is your responsibility to give a copy to your employer. (You can enter your employer's address during technician class registration if you want them to go directly to your office).

We will not send anyone's attendance forms to ANYONE OTHER THAN THE ATTENDEE without YOUR permission. We are willing to send the forms to other locations -- BUT YOU will need to fill out a support request or send us an email with your request.

How often do you change the material ?

Category material is changed every year.  New material is usually posted sometime in late December for use starting January 1st.  The State will NOT ALLOW you to attend the same class material twice within the same renewal year.

Technician materials are not required to be "approved" by the state.  We plan on changing ours every other year.  You CAN take the same materials again.

How long does it take to process my CEU's?

Normally (especially during peak periods), we're pretty quick -- within a day or two -- here's how it works:

We normally begin processing "around" 6pm. We work in "batches". After we download all of the completed registrations, we then check and match all of the completed quiz reviews to verify your attendance time within the material. We then begin preparing your attendance verification form.  Attendance verification forms will not be posted (or mailed if you are a Technician) until after we have verified the amount of time you spent and we have received payment.

Credit cards are then processed, and if everything is in order, the CPO/SPID attendance form is converted into the "pdf" file format and posted to the website for you to retrieve using your email. (Technician forms are printed and mailed, going out in the next day's mail.) During deadline periods, we will sometimes run multiple batches. If a CPO/SPID indicated that you would like a paper copy (for an additional fee), we print those and put them into the US Postal Service the NEXT day.

If you're going to pay by cashier's check or money order, we will HOLD your attendance verification form until we have received your check/money order. Upon receipt, we complete your attendance form and post it (or mail it if you are a technician) in the NEXT batch that we process.

We do, however, LEGALLY ALLOW ourselves 3 - 5 business days for processing due to variances in our work schedules and holidays.

The deadline is midnight tonight, can you help me?

Probably not, and Maybe.  There are a lot of different answers, all containing a  lot of IFs. We will do what we can to help you but there are some things YOU will have to do also.

IF you can get ALL of your categories completed by 4pm...(Remember, for a full ticket - 4 categories and Core - you will need 10 hours - you will have to START by 6am - AND REMEMBER -- you CANNOT overlap classes)...AND

IF you are paying by credit card ...(and it is not 'declined' when we process your information)...AND

IF you send us a support request or an email letting us know you need this processed quickly...(different types of licenses have different renewal dates)

We will do what we can to assist you.

If YOU do not have your renewal card from the state, we have been told that you can mail your fee and attendance forms, postmarked prior to any of the deadline dates, directly to the Bureau. You can also use the State's electronic renewal process at http://aesecomm.freshfromflorida.com (with a credit card).

Otherwise, if your renewal fee is incorrect and/or your attendance verification forms are not signed with your original signature and/or your renewal is not postmarked PRIOR TO any of the deadlines, your credential will EXPIRE. You've had six months of a "grace" period to get your ceu's.

ceuweb.com, LLC will not be responsible for late renewals or loss of YOUR certificate because YOU waited until the very last minute!!

Back to FAQ index

What if my time runs short of the two hours ?

Your accumulated time starts upon submission of the registration information and ends upon submission of the review answers.  It is your responsibility to monitor your time.  Look at the clock when you start and submit the review at least 2 hours later.

The state allows for two ten minute breaks.  This break time allows us to process ceus if you have an accumulated time of one hour and forty minutes per category.  Any attendances shorter than 1 hr and 40 minutes WILL NOT be processed and will DELAY your attendance verification form.

We will attempt to contact you at the numbers provided on your registration form to advise you that you are short on attendance time and instruct you to return and complete the remaining time.

To fix the problem, all you have to do is re-enter the website and finish your time!  You do NOT have to start over and you will not be billed for multiple registrations.

Can more than one person attend at the same time?

Yes.

1. Register and SUBMIT the first person.

2. Hit your BACK button, register and SUBMIT the second person. (Remember to change the names and other information)

3. Both of you then review the material in front of you. (We suggest you then print the material so the second person can review the material at their own pace).

4. Two hours later....make sure you have an internet connection and have the first person answer and SUBMIT the review questions.

5. Hit your BACK button and have the second person answer and SUBMIT the review questions. (Remember to change the names and other information)

EACH person must have at least one hour and forty minutes between the submission of the registration and review questions.

Do you get much feedback from your users ?

We not only get feedback, we go looking for it!  We routinely make calls to review material content, program suggestions and preferred material topics for upcoming years.  Expect a call.  Please feel free to email us with any comments or suggestions!

Back to FAQ index

Where do you get your topic ideas ?

Multiple resources.  We use attendee preferences sent to us by email,  DACS may put in a request for an area they want to see publicized, current events, industry requests... we also monitor the trade magazines for topics. Whatever topic we do choose, we try to keep it accurate, informative, useful and interesting.

Please feel free to email any suggestions!

Back to FAQ index

Why can't you fax my attendance form to me?

#1 - The State will NOT accept a facsimile copy AT ALL (even if you have an original sigature on it).

#2 - We don't have a facsimile machine anymore...

The State will ONLY accept an original form that we mailed to you at your request and SIGNED, OR the electronic form that we email to you and you print out and sign.

EITHER of those forms must have ORIGINAL signatures - We HIGHLY suggest that you sign in any color ink except black so it is OBVIOUSLY an original signature.
